If your relatives live close enough to your Vaughan real estate that you can see them on a regular basis, then you're lucky. Most people have to go to great effort and expense hosting family reunions and get togethers in order to see their families because people tend to grow up and move away to follow jobs, whims, and significant others. If you find yourself missing your family and wishing you could see them again soon, why not host the family reunion yourself? It's a lot of work, but we can help.

The first thing you'll need to decide is when to hold your reunion. If you want to maximize the number of people who are able to make it to your reunion, you'll want to hold it during a time of year when people normally take their vacations and give them plenty of notice so they can make their travel arrangements. People are most apt to leave their Leslieville homes during the holiday season in December, during spring break, and on the kids' vacations from school, so these weeks are your best bet.

The next thing you'll need to decide is where you want to host your reunion. If you or one of your local relatives has a particularly large piece of London real estate, you can always host it there if you don't mind having scores of people roaming the house for the duration of the event. Other options include hosting your event at a local hotel or convention center or arranging for everyone to meet in the same city that is approximately the same travel distance for everyone or holds some vacation appeal (like a resort in Mexico).

If your family is large enough that you need to rent the convention center to hold everyone, then you don't need to worry about catering. You can just make it part of your hosting package. If, however, you're hosting it at home, you'll need to find catering services in Toronto who can take the burden of cooking for everyone off your shoulders so you can enjoy the event like everyone else. You don't need to consult with everyone before setting the menu unless food allergies or dietary restrictions (such as vegetarianism or high blood pressure) are present in your family.

And finally, you should organize some events so that your reunion doesn't consist entirely of people milling around your Toronto real estate looking bored. Some events that people often enjoy at family reunions include picnics, trivia nights, three legged races, cook-offs, touch football games, beach parties, talent shows, slide shows, movie nights, and raffles that can help offset the cost of organizing the event if you don't want to ask your family members for contributions to the budget.
