No matter what time of year it might be, there is always a reason for some people to celebrate. That means that on the weekend it's not hard to find a festival or event that's going on. This could be something to take advantage of the water at Ashbridges Bay in the summer or an event during the holidays meant to spread Christmas spirit. Many of these events are free for those that want to come and check things out. You could spend the afternoon walking through a street fair or attend a Doors Open event.

While you might not find the green space in a city like you would at an equestrian London Ontario ranch there are certainly going to be a least a few parks in the city. See if local museums, art galleries, and attractions have an open door event or a free time to attend. Places like the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto open up their facilities for free one evening or day of the week for anyone who would like to attend. There are also some that have an event once a month that has free admission.
